I have a 1955 Dodge Coronet Royal project car that I am forcing myself to sell because I dont have the money or expertise to do the job right. This car has very little rust. The worst spot are the lower door skins on the front doors. Otherwise the trunk pan, floor pan, quater panels and fenders are very solid. This car came with the original 270 V8 and 2 speed Powerflite transmission. Unfortunantly the engine is not the Hemi (or Double Rocker, as they were known in those days), but the Poly head (or Single Rocker). Also, the engine is completely frozen. I tried to turn the crank with a wrench and the pistons wont budge an inch. The Powerflite looks to still be useable though.
I have the engine and transmission removed, because I was planning on doing a big block/Torqueflite conversion. All the glass is good on the car, except for the windshield. It will also probably need a new headliner, door panels, and package tray but the seats and floor carpeting are excellent. 1955 was the last year that Chyrsler used a six volt electrical system. I put in a new six volt battery and the lights, blower motor and wipers all worked.
The price is negotiable, also I would be willing to trade for a running and driveable 60s through 1995 Dodge pickup (Ram, Dakota, D100, D150, Sweptline, long box, short box, stepside, whatever youve got Im interested), 70s through 90s Jeep pickup (Commanche or J10), or mid 60s to 1971 Plymouth Fury or Imperial (Ill only consider Fury coupes, an Imperial coupe would be preferable, but if youve got a good more door Imp, Id be interested). It doesnt have to be perfect obviously, but would like it to run, drive, and stop .
You can contact me at the email listed in the ad. I prefer talking or exchanging numbers through email, rather than just posting it for all the internet to see. Thank you for looking and I look forward to hearing from all those who are interested.
