www.featheredfriendsforever.org ~ There are over 1200 birds now at the nation's largest exotic/endangered bird rescue and santuary, located in Harlem, GA. Before you buy a pet store bird, visit the rescue and find one that likes YOU. Step one is to fill out the online application and send it in (READ all of it first) to ensure that the bird will have a safe, happy home. If you can't read or follow instructions, the birds are smarter than you so you can't adopt! Then plan to spend an afternoon getting to know a future companion. Birds are not sold or shipped. There is a huge open house BBQ at the rescue May 24-25, 2008 which is a perfect time to visit. Details are on the website.
